Overview
‘Guardians of Change’ is a LODHA internal initiative aimed at engaging our associate community to build a better life for citizens in our business regions. As a part of this initiative, we are currently focusing on Education, Labor Welfare and Improvement of public areas and amenities. We have tie-ups with noted NGOs like Pratham and Goonj, which help us in the execution of these social projects.
Our goal for year one is to influence lives of 1,000 school going children, 1,000 workers and improve at least 1 mile of public space.
Education
We have adopted a Municipal school in BPES,Bandra, with a view to improve the school infrastructure and the quality of education. This school has 225 children. In a years’ time, we have substantially improved the infrastructure and have provided students with a holistic development by imparting remedial education. LODHA associates in association with an NGO, also impart social, cultural and nature related education on weekends to foster an all-round personality among kids.
Labor
As a part of three month program, we have undertaken initiatives to provide over 500 laborers at our Upper Thane site, Palava site and Park Site with an honorable and dignified work environment. The program focuses on health, financial and social aspects of their lives. The aim is to uplift the standard of living of the laborers and their families. Additionally, they are provided support with getting vaccinations, bank accounts and access to government benefit schemes.
Mumbai mile
One mile stretch from Senapati Bapat Marg to Pandurang Budhkar Marg, the Mumbai Mile, consists of concentration of various entertainment spaces, business parks, residential developments, hotels and shopping malls. We, in association with our partners, are creating an international standard boulevard by creating walk-friendly zones, public spaces and easing vehicular congestion on the ever-busy Mumbai Mile.
As a part of this initiative, we are developing and executing a plan constituting well-designed pedestrian walkways, dedicated taxi bays, police parking, pedestrian crossings, adding dustbins as well as basic amenities such as washrooms. Most importantly,... we are developing an open community space for congregation and instilling a sense of safety. Phase 1 of the Mumbai Mile (consisting of 400 meters) is already ready and being enjoyed by all citizens.
Overview
LODHA Foundation implements developmental initiatives in Mumbai and rural areas in Kalyan-Dombivli region. The foundation aims to improve the lives of communities by making need based investments in initiatives that provide both short and long term benefits to individuals and community at large.
Focus areas of the foundation are health, education and livelihood development. It also has initiatives for promotion of art, culture, religion and patriotism, besides providing civic support services and relief work during calamities. These programmes are implemented in collaboration with community level stakeholders....

Education

Lodha Foundation organise various events around the year to celebrate various occasions.
‘Shreshtha Bharat Day’ to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the song ‘Ae mere watan ke logon’ sung by Lata Mangeshkar, was organised in collaboration with Shahid Gaurav Samiti on 27th January, 2014. It saw participation from more than 100,000 people.

Other Initiatives
Lodha Dham, established in 2013 in 1.5 acres land at Vasai, close to Mumbai, provides a place for the Jain pilgrims and saints to stay there for short duration during their pilgrimage.
Lodha Vatika, established in 2014, in Bhiwandi, near Mumbai – Nasik Highway provides a resting place for the pilgrims who travel on foot to Sai Baba temple in Shirdi.
Cowshed at Bhiwandi, close to Mumbai, provides shelter to 42 cows....
To fulfil the spiritual and emotional requirements of the Senior Citizens a day long pilgrimage to different religious locations within and nearby Mumbai is undertaken.- Joy of Giving Week the "festival of philanthropy" is celebrated by engaging associates in LODHA Group to donate for charitable organizations working for different cause.

24 x 7 helpline for citizens living in Walkeshwar, Khetwadi, Tardeo, Girgaum, Gamdevi, Opera House and Malabar Hills in Mumbai. It provides information and registers civic complaints. It also helps citizens procure their various identity cards from government departments.
