The Sewri-Worli Elevated Corridor, spanning approximately 4.5 kilometres, is poised to be a game-changer for Mumbai's transportation landscape. The project envisions a six-lane elevated road comprising two rail overbridges at Sewri and another two-tier bridge at Prabhadevi which will cross the Central and Western Railway lines. The project will not only cater to private vehicles but also integrate public transportation through dedicated bus lanes. An official release from the Chief Minister’s Office said, “In this project, 2 Lane flyover from Worli Bandra Sea Link towards Bandra Kurla Complex of about 715 meters long (B-arm) and 2 Lane flyover from Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Worli Sea Link of about 604 meters (C-arm) is proposed. Also, a 2-lane free left arm flyover having a length of about 310 meters is proposed from Dharavi to Worli Sea Link (D-arm).” This project by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is slated to launch in 2025.
