High efficiency performance with 5-star rating equipments

By LODHA 25 November 2021

We as an organization have been able to implement various high capital cost initiatives like including 5 start + AC units, high performance facades, high efficiency equipment like premium efficiency motors, regen drives in lifts and other at our projects.

Electrical motors are one of the main energy consumers amongst all equipment’s especially in a commercial building. Hence a correct selection of motors can save significant energy in the overall life cycle of a building. IE3 motors provide premium efficiency and help reduce CO2 emission levels.

By implementing this change we have witnessed energy savings of approximately 24 lakh kWh per year across residential and commercial projects. CO 2 emissions have reduced by approximately 1750 tons per year.

Despite the higher upfront CAPEX we have implemented 5 start AC units across our apartments as it results in better performance and lesser CO 2 emissions in the environment. This investment has resulted in energy savings of approximately 8 lakh kWh per year across residential and commercial projects. CO 2 emissions were approximately reduced by 575 tons per year.

Our commercial buildings are built with a performance building façade. The Glazing used across our commercial projects is a level better than the recommended glazing in the ECBC/ECBC+ (Energy Conservation Building Codes) categories.

This has led to an energy conservation of 5.5 lakh kWh per year and CO 2 emission reduction by 400 tons per year.

Regenerative drives capture the heat generated by elevators during use and convert it into reusable energy for the building rather than wasting it as heat. We assessed that our commercial buildings have high vertical transfer traffic so we bought about this reformation in 2018. This initiative has led to an energy conservation of 78,000 kWh per year and CO 2 emissions reduction of approximately 50
tons per year.
