March 03, 2022 | By Construction Week

Lodha has adopted IGBC Green Building Ratings for its entire residential portfolio in Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Pune and has registered its residential projects amounting to over 25 million sq-ft under suitable IGBC Green Residential Building Ratings.

Aun Abdullah, ESG leader, Lodha, said, “We shoulder a significant responsibility to do what is right for addressing future climate risks. Focused on our commitment to provide a better earth to our future generations, we established a North star goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2035. Through IGBC Green Buildings Ratings, we wish to illustrate that our projects are always designed with sustainability at their core. Our medium-term goal is to be a ‘net positive’ organization – focusing not just on economic profit, but also creating a positive impact on society and the environment.”

Lodha has been an IGBC founding member since 2007.

Gurmit Singh Arora, national chairman, IGBC lauded Lodha’s green initiatives and congratulated them on their net zero vision. He added that Lodha’s projects would continue to inspire many other developers in Maharashtra and across the country to adopt green building design, construction, and operational practices. He said that IGBC is proud to have stakeholders such as the Lodha as patrons of the green building movement in India.
